FAQ for Bharathi Tamil School Parents

1. When is the first day of classes for the 2025-2026 school year?

Classes begin on Friday, August 29, 2025.

2. Where are the classes held, and how do I know which branch my child is assigned to?

Bharathi Tamil School operates in three branches, all located in South Windsor & Manchester CT:

SWE - South Windsor East

SWW - South Windsor West

MNC - Manchester

To check your child’s assigned branch, log in to the CTA portal (catamilacademy.org) with your registered email id and password.

3. What is the class schedule, and how can I stay updated?

Weekly Schedule: The classes are held based on school availability. Schedule/Venue for each week, would be published a day or 2 before each week of class on our school website, bharathitamilschoolct.com. Parents to check the website for up-to-date venue each week.

Class Times:

Classes held at Middle School (TEMS) and High School(SWHS/MHS) start at 6:00 PM.

Classes held at Elementary School (PV, Verplanck, Orchard Hill) start at 6:15 PM.

Look for the venue every week before you start.

Duration:

Pre-K classes: 60 minutes.

Other classes: 90 minutes.

Classes 6, 7, and 8: Additional 40-minute for clubs and enrichment sessions after regular class, for higher grade students.

Week# 1 schedule:

SWE - South Windsor East: Timothy Edwards Middle School

SWW - South Windsor West: South Windsor High School

MNC - Manchester: Pleasant Valley Elementary School***

***Manchester branch classes are generally held in Manchester except this week due to unavailability of the school.

4. What are the drop-off and pick-up expectations?

Parents are requested to drop off and pick up students on time at their assigned branch. Ensure timely arrivals to avoid disruptions. Teacher too :)

Park the cars only in designated parking. Don’t park in front of the entrance and block the road/traffic.

For Pre-K, KG, Avd KG and 1st grade kids, Parents should walk with kids to drop them in class. Do not keep your cars with hazards light on in front of the building.

5. Are student handbooks provided this year?

Students: Handbooks are not provided in print this year. Access the digital version via the CTA portal (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yOfq1sAxSN2JWgIjmrDxt0tldVKV6aqF).

The digital handbooks are made available in the Google Classrooms once created. We will announce once ready.

Teachers: Will receive printed copies of the handbooks.

6. How can I access additional resources or contact the school?

Visit bharathitamilschoolct.com for schedules, resources, and contact information. Log in to the CTA portal (catamilacademy.org) for student-specific details like branch assignments and handbooks.

7. Where to see and upload weekly homework ?

Home work can be seen in handbook for respective weeks .

Homework - conversion log will be expected to upload in Google classroom. Each kid will be assigned to respective Google classrooms. Credentials will be shared in week 2. Other homework’s should be completed in respective books and bring to class for evaluation

8.. How to interact with the teacher for my kid's class?

WhatsApp groups will be created by class teacher for each section. You will be added to the same.
